Art is so much more than something tangible. Kevin De Bruyne is not only a world-class football player — he also has a heart of gold. He decided to auction this work, 7Z2Q#CB to offer financial support to the non-profit organization Metabolic Diseases UZ Gent.
But what are metabolic diseases, and why are they so devastating — especially for children?
Metabolic diseases are rare genetic disorders that affect the body’s ability to turn food into energy. In children, these diseases can have rapid and severe consequences — from growth problems and developmental delays to organ failure or even life-threatening crises. Treatment is often complex, lifelong, and emotionally and financially challenging for families. Supporting research and care for these diseases is therefore crucial — especially for our youngest and most vulnerable patients.

The artwork will remain on display until November at Robinsons Art Gallery, Zeedijk 757A in Knokke-Zoute. Everyone is welcome to come and view the painting.
